Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a "fast" runner to hire a coach? Absolutely not. Whether your goal is to break a world record or simply finish your first 5k without walking, coaching is about optimizing your potential. We work with "back-of-the-pack" heroes and podium finishers alike. If you run, you are a runner and we want to work with you!

How does virtual coaching actually work? We use an online platform called Final Surge to deliver your individualized training. Every day, you’ll know exactly what to do for training. After your run, you sync your watch, and I review your data to provide feedback and adjust the following week’s plan.

Do you offer 'Month-to-Month' coaching or do I have to sign a long-term contract? We believe in the results, not "trapping" clients. While we recommend at least a 3-month commitment to see real physiological changes, we offer month-to-month billing with a simple 30-day notice for cancellations.

How much strength training is included? Injury prevention is a huge emphasis. Every plan includes "runner-specific" strength routines (minimal equipment needed) to bulletproof your glutes, core, and lower legs. Depending on the athlete's needs and available time, more strength training can be incorporated.

What if I have a busy job or family? Can I still train for an ultra? Flexibility is key. We build the plan around your calendar, not the other way around. Training for any endurance event does require a certain level of commitment, however we believe anyone can successfully train for and complete an ultramarathon. We have helped many athletes who work 60+ hour weeks, have busy family lives, do shift work, etc. We are confident we can help you incorporate ultra training into your busy life!
